Center for Advanced Reproductive Medicine and Infertility
The Center for Advanced Reproductive Medicine and Infertility (CARMI) was founded in October 2011 in St. Luke’s-Global City and offers fully integrated comprehensive fertility services to accurately diagnose infertility problems and to assist couples who want to conceive a baby. It is the Philippines’ first and only hospital-based IVF center.
Highly-trained specialists, compassionate nurses, and experienced scientists provide personalized quality care to CARMI patients. They are assisted by urologists, sonologists, anesthesiologists, immunologists, clinical psychologists, acupuncturists, geneticists, and weight management specialists.
CARMI has state-of-the-art facilities that are among the most advanced in Asia. It has a sophisticated laboratory that can carry out necessary fertility diagnosis. It offers advanced assisted reproductive technology (ART) services such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), gamete inter-fallopian transfer (GIFT), in-vitro maturation, surgical sperm retrieval, intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection and embryo/gamete conservation.
The Center has achieved numerous firsts in fertility medicine in the country. It was the first to offer state-of-the-art diagnostic tests such as the Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) testing for ovarian reserve and sperm DNA Fragmentation Test (Halo Test), as well as in-house acupuncture service as a complementary treatment protocol for infertility. More significantly, it is in CARMI where the first documented IVF pregnancies and deliveries after micro-TESE (October 2012) in a patient with a retrograde ejaculate (Jan 2015) and with an ever-growing list of deliveries after using time lapse videography (May 2016). It was also the first to have ovarian tissue cryopreserved in a patient with breast cancer.
